Assistant Manager, IT Operations

Job Description 

Optimum General Insurance is a company in constant evolution, striving to improve its processes to provide optimal service to its brokers and clients while creating a modern and efficient work environment for its employees. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate ready to take on challenges and collaborate on innovative IT initiatives. You will work closely with experienced teams, partnering with operational units to implement creative solutions that meet specific needs.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating team activities based on established priorities and proposing adjustments to optimize our work methods.

Responsibilities 

  • Manages and plans the evolution of essential systems for our organization’s operations;
  • Actively participates in various stages of the software development cycle, including defining acceptance criteria, validation of the requirements and the solution, testing activities, documentation, and pre-production acceptance;
  • Management of the team of business analysts responsible for configuring pricing and other rules within our systems;
  • Acts as the liaison between IT teams and different business units to gather and analyze needs;
  • Supervises or participates in defining business processes, procedures, and rules while ensuring effective communication of context to the rest of the team.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess a minimum of five years of experience as a business analyst, product manager, or in a related field;
  • Leadership skills and team management;
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, information technology or in a relevant discipline;
  • Asset: Experience working in the insurance or financial industry;
  • Asset: Project management experience;
  • Asset: Experience with Agile development methodology.
